The concept of importance is often equated with value, which means you value something most because you think it’s important and vice versa. Yet this substitution fails to provide a clear understanding. To delve deeper, one may speculate that importance stems from indispensability, although this remains an unverifiable hypothesis. Ultimately, the closest approximation to the meaning of importance lies in its connection to indispensability.

proviso — nothing is truly indispensable.

At its zenith, in its truest sense, indispensable means ‘something it is not possible to be without’.

And yet, life goes on — even if it’s without you.

Upon realizing this, one comes to understand that there is nothing truly, absolutely indispensable in its entirety.

It’s easy enough for me to say my arm is indispensable and essential, and believe it. However, the truth is that even if I were to lose my arms, I would still find ways to adapt and survive.

In the grand scheme of things, I recognize that my own existence is not indispensable. If, by some unfortunate event, I were to cease to exist at this very moment, life would carry on largely unchanged. As the saying goes, “Zindagi migzara,” reminding us of life’s transient nature.

Consider the example of our own selves. It is easy to believe that we are indispensable, that our existence is pivotal to the functioning of the world. However, if we were to vanish from this earthly realm this very moment, the truth reveals itself-nothing would be lost, and life would go on much the same. The symphony of existence continues its melodious rhythm, indifferent to our perceived indispensability.

Rather than being disheartened by this revelation, we can find solace and liberation in accepting the transience of life.

I think, our yearning for indispensability stems from our innate desire for permanence, for a sense of security and control. But by embracing the fleeting nature of our existence, we free ourselves from the burden of unrealistic expectations and attachments.

Zindagi migzara invites us to redefine our perspective on importance and significance.

Instead of seeking absolute indispensability, we can focus on the degrees of indispensability that influence our lives. We can evaluate the impact and influence of certain aspects by asking ourselves, “How hard would it be to go without this?” The greater the difficulty faced, the higher the degree of indispensability.

When individuals claim they cannot live without each other, it would be more accurate to express that they could indeed survive without their beloved parents, whom they have cherished for an eternity. However, the profound difficulty and immense emotional impact of such a separation would undoubtedly shake them to their very core, because of extremely higher degree of indispensability.

Moreover, Zindagi migzara prompts us to appreciate the duality of importance. While negative importance reflects the challenges and hardships we face without something, positive importance highlights the potential for improvement and enhancement that new ideas and tools bring to our lives.

We cannot fully grasp the significance of something we have never experienced. It is only through embracing the positive side of importance that we can evaluate the transformative power it holds.

By shifting our focus from artificial constructs like authority, status, and power, we find ourselves drawn towards utility and usefulness. Zindagi migzara guides us away from the illusions and superficial games we create, reminding us that true importance lies in the impact on our well-being, the alleviation of pain, and the enhancement of our lives and those around us.

In conclusion, let us release ourselves from the illusion of indispensability and instead embrace the transient beauty of life.

Zindagi migzara, the anthem of resilience, echoes through the ages, reminding us that our existence, though meaningful and precious, is but a fleeting moment in the vast expanse of time.

By appreciating the degrees of indispensability and focusing on utility and usefulness, we can navigate life’s journey with grace and authenticity, making each moment count.

And if you’ve read till now, I just wanted to thank you. Because, I believe while a writer may write for herself, the reader’s role is pivotal. The reader completes the literary transaction by engaging with the written words, interpreting their meaning, and experiencing a range of emotions. Whether it be a smile, tears, anger, disturbance, or indifference; the reader’s reactions bring the writer’s words to life and give them greater resonance.

In the realm of literature, the writer and the reader enter into an unwritten deal as without a reader, a writer is incomplete. The writer moves forward, exploring new ideas and creating new works, while the readers remain behind, engaging with the written words. Each party contributes to the richness of the literary experience, forming a dynamic and ever-evolving relationship. And subsequently creating a moderate degree of indispensability!
